Official confirmations are arriving regarding one of the most important faces in the universe built by Matt Reeves: Andy Serkis will once again be Alfred Pennyworth in The Batman – Part II. After weeks of rumors related to his commitments with the new project dedicated to Gollum, the British actor's return is now certain.
The sequel will once again feature Robert Pattinson as Bruce Wayne, alongside Jeffrey Wright (Gordon), Colin Farrell (Penguin), and Barry Keoghan, whose Joker might have a larger role. New additions include Sebastian Stan and Scarlett Johansson in a role still shrouded in mystery.

Serkis hinted that the emotional core of the film will remain the bond between Alfred and Bruce, described as intense and complex. A fragile balance in which the paternal figure attempts to curb the Dark Knight's self-destructive spiral.
Regarding the plot, hypotheses are multiplying: some look to the thirteen-issue comic book miniseries The Long Halloween, while others focus on the Court of Owls, a possible key to expanding Gotham's darker, more conspiratorial side. The character of Harvey Dent could also play a crucial role.
Filming will begin in late May 2026 across Leavesden, Liverpool, and Glasgow. The release is set for October 1, 2027, with the aim of further expanding the noir and auteur identity of the first chapter.
