Shinji Mikami Unveils His New Studio: Unbound
The creator of Resident Evil will collaborate with the creator of Stellar Blade
Finally, Shinji Mikami reveals his hand and introduces his new studio to the world. The Japanese game designer, known for creating a multitude of cult titles (one name above all: Resident Evil), left Tango Gameworks in 2023 and had since gone off the radar, until today. Mikami's new studio is called Unbound, is based in Tokyo, and is conceived as a space where employees enjoy creative freedom and can share their ideas.
The Unbound x Shift Up Collaboration
Unbound has formed a partnership with Shift Up: the Korean creator of Stellar Blade and Goddess of Victory: Nikke will publish the future titles from Mikami's studio. This collaboration is immortalized in a video that offers possible clues about Unbound's first game: look at the image below, for example... According to Mikami, it's a "pretty big" project, and we'll have to wait a while before we see it. For more information on the partnership, check out Shift Up's blog.
