Schwarzenegger and the Possible Return of Cult Characters
Dan Trachtenberg and Christopher McQuarrie among the talents consulted

During the latest Arnold Sports Festival, a major multi-sport and fitness exhibition event, Arnold Schwarzenegger reignited fan interest by openly discussing several projects related to his most iconic characters. Among the most surprising revelations was the possible relaunch of King Conan, a film that should bring the famous Cimmerian warrior back to the big screen after more than forty years.
Cult Characters Never Forgotten

According to the actor, 20th Century Studios has decided to restart the project, entrusting it to Christopher McQuarrie, director and screenwriter of the most recent films in the Mission: Impossible saga starring Tom Cruise. The idea would be to tell the story of an elderly Conan, who has been king for many years, forced to return to battle when his kingdom is threatened. The concept therefore focuses on a more mature protagonist, transforming the return of the barbarian hero into a kind of epic final chapter amidst magic, fantastic creatures, and great battles.
Schwarzenegger also hinted at possible developments for another historical saga in his career: Predator. The actor confirmed that he had spoken with Dan Trachtenberg, director of Prey, regarding a possible return of Major Dutch.

As if that weren't enough, a preliminary script for a possible sequel to Commando, another 1980s action classic and at the time a wasted opportunity not to immediately relaunch the character, is also circulating in Hollywood studios. Nothing is official yet, but the actor's statements suggest that several projects could soon bring him back to the center of action cinema.
