Resident Evil - The George Romero Film on Blu-ray
Directed by Brandon Salisbury, the documentary chronicles the failed directorial venture of the father of the modern zombie

A never-before-made chapter in horror history is about to come to light. The Resident Evil project never brought to the screen by George A. Romero is the focus of a documentary that reconstructs its genesis, ambitions, and production failure. Titled George A. Romero’s Resident Evil, the film will arrive on Blu-ray on January 27 thanks to the US-based Dark Star Pictures.
Romero's Vision vs. Capcom's Vision

Directed by Brandon Salisbury, the documentary tells how the father of the modern zombie was involved in adapting the famous Capcom video game, before creative differences and industrial pressures led to the project's abandonment. Through unreleased materials and numerous testimonies, a portrait emerges of Romero determined to remain faithful to his authorial vision, even at the cost of losing the film.
The narrative focuses on the tensions between creativity and corporate logic, revealing previously little-known details about the script written by the director and how he would have reinterpreted the Resident Evil universe. The result is an in-depth investigation into “the film that never existed,” but which could have changed the fate of the cinematic saga.

The Blu-ray edition will be rich in special features: audio commentaries, roundtables, and extended interviews with collaborators and scholars of the project. A release designed for horror fans and those who wish to discover one of the most fascinating “what ifs” in the history of genre cinema.
