Queens of the Dead - Trailer for Romero's Daughter's Film
An irreverent take on the zombie genre that blends horror and queer culture

The legacy of master George A. Romero comes back to life amidst glitter and blood. His daughter Tina Romero makes her big screen debut with Queens of the Dead, an irreverent take on the zombie genre that blends horror and queer culture. The film will arrive in US cinemas on October 24, 2025, just in time for Halloween, after premiering at the Brooklyn Horror Film Festival and New York's NewFest.
An Alternative Vision of Horror
Set in Brooklyn during a massive warehouse party, Queens of the Dead tells of the sudden explosion of a zombie apocalypse that forces a group of drag queens and frenemies to fight side-by-side against the undead. The cast includes Katy O’Brian, Margaret Cho, Brigette Lundy-Paine, Cheyenne Jackson, and several LGBTQ+ icons, such as Nina West and Dominique Jackson.
Tina describes the film as a tribute to her father's language and themes, but filtered through her own sensibility. “It’s not a film my father would have made, but it speaks his language,” the director explained, emphasizing the intention to give the queer audience their long-awaited zombie movie. Between irony and splatter chaos, Queens of the Dead promises to redefine the rules of horror in an inclusive and dazzling way.
