Pokémon Champions Coming to Nintendo Switch in April
Gotta challenge 'em all

There's big news from Pokémon: the main announcement is, of course, the new double title in the series, Pokémon Winds and Pokémon Waves, which will be released exclusively on Switch 2 in 2027. More immediately, this month will see the return of Pokémon XD to screens. But there's another title on the horizon, which we first learned about last July: we're talking about Pokémon Champions.
Details on Pokémon Champions
Pokémon Champions brings a core tenet of the series, dating back to the legendary Game Boy, to the forefront: challenging other players in tactical battles. Players can deploy their monsters in Competitive Battles or Friendly Battles, or in Private Battles with family and friends. This title will be compatible with the cloud service Pokémon HOME, which will allow players to draw new creatures from previous games in the saga and from Pokémon GO.

Where and When Pokémon Champions is Released
Pokémon Champions will be available on the Nintendo Switch console in April 2026. Later this year, the title will also be released on mobile devices Android and iOS. Pokémon Champions will be cross-platform, so Switch and mobile users will be able to challenge each other without issue.
