PlayStation 5 Digital: Will the Hard Drive Become Smaller?
An unconfirmed report suggests an unwelcome downgrade for the console

In November 2020, Sony launched the PlayStation 5 console in two versions: the standard one, equipped with a Blu-Ray player, and the Digital Edition, which lacks it. The Digital Edition hit the market at an initial price of €399, which after less than two years and various global events was raised to €449, and then further adjusted last April, to €499. If the price increases weren't enough to make gamers frown, a reduction in internal memory might soon follow.
PlayStation 5: Will the Hard Drive Drop to 825 GB?
The PlayStation 5 Digital Edition features a 1 terabyte SSD hard drive, but perhaps not for much longer. According to VGC, starting September 13, Sony might release a new revision of the Digital Edition in Europe, with a hard drive reduced to 825 gigabytes. The price, needless to say, would remain €499. Apparently, the standard version with an optical drive would not be affected by the change, at least for now.
