Nintendo Unveils the Mystery Behind Close to You
Unfortunately no, it's not a new game
A couple of days ago, Nintendo shared a mysterious computer-animated trailer called Close to You, without providing any information about it. Some of the elements in the video led us to hypothesize that it might be something related to the Pikmin franchise, but we were mistaken: although the cute little creatures seem to be involved, it is not a teaser for a new project.
What is Close to You?
Nintendo itself revealed the mystery via Twitter/X. Close to You is nothing more than the first short film created by Nintendo Pictures Co., Ltd; a second short is available today on the Nintendo Today! app. Nintendo Pictures is a Japanese animation studio, acquired by the house of Mario in 2022, previously known as Dynamo Pictures. The studio will continue to "explore creative possibilities" through video content, but at this point, we wonder if Nintendo isn't thinking of producing a full-fledged movie itself...
