Nicolas Cage has played all kinds of characters throughout his career, but there's one that clearly keeps coming back to him. During a recent interview, the actor confessed that he wants to reprise the role of Cameron Poe, the protagonist of the historic 90s action film Con Air.

The idea of revisiting that character today immediately ignited fan nostalgia. The film was released in 1997 under the production of Jerry Bruckheimer, and has remained one of the absolute symbols of over-the-top, bombastic action cinema of the era.

Cameron Poe and Spider-Noir in Cage's Dreams

Speaking about a possible return, Cage explained that he is curious to find out what happened to Cameron Poe after the events of the first film. An idea that doesn't seem at all random, especially considering how iconic the character has remained amidst chases, explosions, and memorable villains like CyrusThe Virus” played by John Malkovich.

But it's not the only role the actor would like to continue exploring. Cage also mentioned Spider-Noir, the new series from MGM+ and Amazon dedicated to the dark version of the Spider-Man universe.

According to the actor, the character of Ben Reilly still has a lot of narrative potential to develop. An interesting detail, because it suggests how personally involved Cage is in the project, well beyond a simple role as a television protagonist.
