Mutiny - Jason Statham, King of Adrenaline in Summer 2026

Jason Statham will also be a major star in 2026, taking on the lead role on the big screen with Mutiny, the new action thriller directed by Jean-François Richet (Plane), which promises to bring the British actor back to the top of the genre that made him a legend. Lionsgate has set the release date for August 21, 2026, in the heart of the summer season.

In Mutiny, Statham plays Cole Reed, an ordinary man unjustly accused of murdering his boss, a powerful industrialist. Forced to flee, he finds himself at the center of an international conspiracy where every ally can become an enemy. It goes without saying that the screenplay will be packed with chases, shootouts, and hand-to-hand combat, imagining Statham as his usual cold, determined, and lethal self.

Three Action-Packed Films for 2026

The cast includes Annabelle Wallis (Peaky Blinders), Jason Wong (The Gentlemen), Roland Møller, and Adrian Lester. Richet stated that he wants to build “a pure, relentless action film, with the heart of a modern classic.”

For Statham, Mutiny is just the beginning of a fiery 2026: Shelter by Ric Roman Waugh will be released in January, while later he will be seen in The Beekeeper 2. Three titles in a single year to demonstrate, once again, that Jason Statham has no intention of slowing down, hoping to witness adventures that aren't too close to recycled material.
