Mortal Shell II Unveils Gameplay with Extended Trailer
The sequel to Cold Symmetry's soulslike is expected this year
Publisher Playstack and developer Cold Symmetry have shared the first gameplay trailer for Mortal Shell II. In the video, we can admire the game's dark world, a contained open world but dense with paths to explore, along with the grotesque creatures that inhabit it. We are shown three gameplay sequences, each featuring a different Shell that dictates a unique playstyle.
The trailer highlights the visceral combat system, which is brutal and bloody as expected. The first Mortal Shell offered some interesting gameplay ideas, but unfortunately, it lacked that certain something to make it shine: we explain it in our review. The second might fill the gaps, with even faster and more ruthless combat, more elaborate weapon designs, and a world with over 60 dungeons to discover.
