Metroid Ravenous: Announcement and Release Date

After the not-so-successful Metroid Prime 4, perhaps Samus has something to atone for, and she intends to do so with what she does best: a title that revives the core principles of the genre known as Metroidvania. Specifically, the reference model appears to be Metroid Dread, the 2.5D installment of the series that was released in 2021 on Switch and received very positive acclaim.

The Announcement of Metroid Ravenous

The new game will be called Metroid Ravenous and will tell the story of a wounded Samus abandoned in the depths of an unknown satellite. The heroine will have to emerge towards the surface, and she will do so in the only way she knows: fighting, alone, against everything and everyone. The announcement trailer shows a certain flair for combat not only at a distance, as is customary, but also hand-to-hand.

Where and When Metroid Ravenous Will Be Released

Nintendo seems to have learned the lesson from Metroid Prime 4; fortunately, we won't have to wait years and years before we can get our hands on the new game. The release date for Metroid Ravenous is January 28, 2027. Obviously, as you may have already guessed, it is an absolute exclusive for Nintendo Switch 2.
