Marvel Zombies Invade Halloween with Ten Dedicated Variant Covers
In October, Marvel launches ten horror-themed alternative covers and inaugurates the new Marvel Zombies series

October is shaping up to be a special month for Marvel fans. Coinciding with Halloween, the publisher will offer ten Marvel Zombies-themed variant covers, transforming some of its most beloved characters into cannibalistic and unsettling figures. This initiative intertwines seasonal marketing and aesthetic experimentation, aiming to surprise and provoke.
The schedule includes: Spirits of Violence #1 (cover by Kyle Hotz) on October 1st, Eddie Brock: Carnage #9 (Rod Reis) on October 8th, Death of the Silver Surfer #5 (Ron Lim) on October 15th. On October 22nd, three covers will be released, dedicated to Miles Morales: Spider-Man #39 (Jeremy Wilson), Moon Knight: Fist of Khonshu #13 (Ivan Shavrin), and Spider-Girl #5 (Corin Howell). Finally, on October 29th, All-New Spider-Gwen: The Ghost-Spider #3 (Lucio Parrillo), Black Cat #3 (Maria Wolf), Emma Frost: The White Queen #5 (Joëlle Jones), and Thor #3 (Juan Ferreyra) will arrive.

The initiative is not isolated: the variants accompany the debut of Marvel Zombies, scheduled for September 25, 2025 on Disney+. This new title, entrusted to Ethan S. Parker, Griffin Sheridan, and Jan Bazaldua, stands out for its mature approach, with extreme graphic content and a narrative tone that blends splatter and emotional introspection.
The illustrations, by leading artists, showcase corrupted and macabre versions of icons like Silver Surfer, Moon Knight, Spider-Gwen, and Thor. The choice to link the release to Halloween amplifies the commercial impact, transforming horror into a lever for brand renewal.
