After the dismal conclusion of Destiny 2 and the layoffs, Bungie can no longer afford any margin for error. The studio's new title, Marathon, is struggling to take off, but the American studio is not giving up and is trying to attract users with new features: the latest arrival is Vault Breaker, a PvE roguelite mode that starts today, July 21, and will continue for about fifteen days until August 4.

Vault Breaker Features

Vault Breaker can be played solo, or in groups of 2 or 3 players, and has a rather linear progression: you must collect loot and withstand waves of enemies, then proceed to extraction. The crucial point is deciding when to leave: the further you go, the more chance there is to obtain additional loot, but obviously the risk of perishing will also increase, which entails losing everything that has been collected up to that point.

Once the session is successfully concluded, the loot obtained can be used to power up your character, thus gaining permanent advantages in subsequent runs. Bungie has shared a trailer, which briefly illustrates how the new mode works. If you'd like to hear our opinion on Marathon, just read our review.
