Liquid Swords studio fails: Samson's flop proves fatal
The disappointing game sank its creator

Exactly one month before the debut of Grand Theft Auto VI, one of its most anticipated features is its vast metropolitan open world to explore, a feature that is far from easy to implement in a video game. Several studios have foundered when trying to tackle the difficulties that creating an open city presents: look, for example, at the troubled launch of a certain Cyberpunk 2077, but also at more recent examples like MindsEye and Samson: A Tyndalston Story.
The failure of Samson's studio
The Samson project was born from the hands of Christofer Sundberg, who founded the studio Liquid Swords after creating the Just Cause franchise at Avalanche Studios. Samson was launched last April, but it met with an inevitable failure because it is a work that could not bear the weight of its own ambitions: we explain it well in our review.
The commercial flop sealed the end of Liquid Swords: the portal Breakit reports that the studio has declared bankruptcy, after spending months without paying its employees, who number around thirty and will receive financial compensation from the Swedish state. As for Liquid Swords, it has fallen into the hands of a bankruptcy trustee, who is trying to find a buyer.
