Jeremy Renner and Director Yi Zhou at the Center of a Legal Case
The careers of both artists are at risk, as they currently communicate through lawyers

New problems for Jeremy Renner, known for his role as Hawkeye in Marvel films. Director and artist Yi Zhou has accused the actor of inappropriate behavior and threats, stating that she feared for her safety after an alleged encounter at Renner's home. Zhou also claims that the actor sent her explicit photos and threatened to report her to authorities for immigration reasons.
Through his lawyer Marty Singer, Renner denies all accusations. In a cease and desist letter sent to Zhou and cited by online publications such as Deadline and TMZ, Singer states that there was only a consensual and brief encounter between the two. The actor, the lawyer claims, only participated in the documentary Masters of Cinema 2: Chronicles of Disney and never agreed to take part in Zhou's film Stardust Future, which – according to the accusation – improperly used his image and voice.
Careers at Risk for Both

For her part, the director retorts that she obtained Renner's authorization through a signed contract and denies any illicit use of artificial intelligence. Both parties claim to have sent legal letters against each other, while authorities are evaluating the facts.
Still evolving, the matter highlights a complex web of mutual accusations, image rights, and alleged technological abuses that could have significant repercussions for both.
