Hytale Launches Today on PC in Early Access
After a troubled development, the "Minecraft-like" game finally sees the light of day

The story of Hytale is just beginning, but it already seems like a fairy tale with a happy ending. It all started with Hypixel, a popular Minecraft server that launched in 2013. Five years later, its creators decided to strike out on their own and create their own "blocky" sandbox game: thus, Hypixel Studios was born, and they began developing Hytale. In 2020, the studio was acquired by Riot Games, but things didn't go well for the project.
In June 2025, Riot Games had announced the end of the Hytale project. At this point, the unexpected happened: last November, the studio and intellectual property became independent again, and everything restarted. After spending eight weeks refining an advanced build (created with over 4 years of work), Hypixel Studios has brought Hytale to life: the game launches today, January 13, on PC via the official website (it's not available on Steam or other clients, at least for now) in early access.
Hytale's Launch: What's In and What's Missing Today
Hytale's journey begins today: Hypixel Studios warns us that the experience is currently incomplete and has a few too many bugs, as one should expect from an early access title. The studio has provided a list of the main features available from launch and those that are missing but will be added later. For more information, consult the official website.
