Ghost of Yotei and PlayStation 5 Sell Well: The Latest Data

Sony has shared a financial report for the second quarter of the current fiscal year (the period from July 1 to September 30, 2025), from which some interesting information about the Japanese company's gaming division emerges. In particular, there is finally official feedback on Ghost of Yotei sales, but not only: let's look at the data together.

Ghost of Yotei and PS5 Sales

The document reports that as of November 2, one month after launch, Ghost of Yotei has sold 3.3 million copies: the result is certainly satisfactory, also considering that it is an absolute PS5 exclusive, therefore accessible only to users of this platform. But how many users are there, exactly? The report also tells us this. In the quarter under review, PlayStation 5 sold 3.9 million units, bringing the total number of consoles sold to 84.2 million.

Another interesting piece of data concerns the total number of games sold in the quarter, across PlayStation 4 and 5: a remarkable 80.3 million, of which 6.3 million were first-party titles. 72% of games sold were in digital format. Finally, the monthly active users on the PlayStation Network service were 119 million, a decrease of 4 million compared to the previous quarter (but the number is expected to rise as the Christmas holidays approach).
