Samsung is entering the clip-on earbud market with the new Galaxy Buds On, currently launched exclusively in South Korea. The design leaves the ear canal open and attaches to the outside of the ear, a solution already adopted by Bose, Huawei, and Shokz.

The Korean debut is set for October 27, with a price of 299,000 won, approximately 220 dollars. Samsung has confirmed they will also arrive in other markets, though it has not yet specified which or when.

Samsung addresses audio leakage

The unique structure of the earbuds inevitably allows more sound to escape. Samsung addresses this with the TwinBoost system, which uses two transducers to improve bass performance, alongside automatic volume adjustment based on the environment.

The company has also worked on sound pressure distribution, increasing the contact surface with the ear. Touch controls are located on the back of the earbuds, while a voice isolation system should improve phone conversations.

With compatible Galaxy smartphones, additional features arrive, such as Gemini Live, call control via head movements, and a Quick Voice Memo function activated by pressing and holding the touch area. The Galaxy Buds On will initially be available only in black.
