Milan, April 8, 2026. As a young undercover agent grappling with choices bigger than herself, Maria Chiara Giannetta stars in ELECTRIC ROSA, an accidental heroine at the center of the brand-new Sky Original on-the-run thriller, for which the trailer and poster are released today. The series will be available from May 8th exclusively on Sky and streaming only on NOW.

Produced by Sky Studios and Cross Productions and directed by Davide Marengo (One Summer Ago, The Hunter, Night Bus), the series — in six episodes — freely adapts Giampaolo Simi's eponymous bestselling novel (2007, published by Sellerio Editore Palermo).

At the heart of the story is Rosa, a young agent in the witness protection program tasked with escorting Cocìss, a baby Camorra boss determined to collaborate, played by co-star Francesco Di Napoli. When she discovers that something in the operation isn't right, Rosa breaks the chain of command and flees with him: from that moment on, both become targets, forced to cross Italy without being able to trust anyone, not even the institutions that should protect them.

Alongside Maria Chiara Giannetta (Love and Other Mental Masturbations, Blanca, Don Matteo) and Francesco Di Napoli (Hey Joe, Romulus, Piranhas) is also Elena Lietti (Il sol dell’avvenire, The Miracle, Anna), who plays Deputy Commissioner Antonella Reja, Rosa's direct superior, ready to do anything to test her young recruit; Antonia Truppo (They Call Me Jeeg, Indivisible, The Sea Beyond) lends her face to Nunzia Serafino, the unsuspected boss of the Incantalupo clan, known as “Mamma Camorra”; Pasquale Esposito (Ripley, Hotel Portofino, Gomorrah) plays Saro Incantalupo, a boss who has been a fugitive for over twenty years and sits at the head of the eponymous clan. And also Federico Tocci (There's Still Tomorrow, The House of Gazes, I Hoped to Die First) as Carlo Morano, Rosa's colleague and loyal friend, and Francesco Foti (The Hunter, The Lions of Sicily, One Summer Ago) as Paolo D'Intrò, Deputy Prosecutor of Naples, a prominent figure in the fight against organized crime.

The series concept was developed by Giordana Mari with Giampaolo Simi and Vittorino Testa. The screenplay is by Giordana Mari, who leads an all-female writers' room that also includes Fortunata Apicella, Serena Patrignanelli, and Michela Straniero.

The series will debut with its first two episodes on Sky Atlantic on May 8th. From the following Friday, it will air on Sky and NOW with two new episodes per week, until May 22nd. And thanks to Sky Extra (Sky's loyalty program), for Sky customers of more than three years, episodes will be available on demand in preview every Tuesday with Primissime.

SYNOPSIS

Rosa has recently been transferred to the Witness Protection Unit, and for her first assignment, she must guard Cocìss, a young and unpredictable Camorra boss who has just turned informant. Having become a target of the rival clan, he has agreed to collaborate with the police to save his own skin. Rosa doesn't understand why she was chosen, but she has no time to be held back by uncertainties. Determined to protect Cocìss at all costs, she doesn't stop even when she realizes there's a flaw in the system and that, in addition to her career, she's risking her life. Alone against everyone, Rosa and Cocìss escape together, driven by a common goal: to save their lives and discover the truth.
