Conan Exiles is about to turn eight years old: the survival MMO set in the Conan the Barbarian universe was released by Funcom on May 8, 2018. It's an experience that boasts the undeniable charm of its setting, with gameplay that may not be entirely original, but still has something to say in terms of progression and content. We discuss it in detail in our Conan Exiles review.

Conan Exiles Enhanced

Developer Funcom intends to celebrate the anniversary in the best possible way, with a major update that will be made available for free to all PC users on Steam. Developed in collaboration with Inflexion Games, this update is called Conan Exiles Enhanced and upgrades the game engine to Unreal Engine 5 (it was previously on Unreal Engine 4), which will obviously lead to a significant graphical improvement.

The Conan Exiles team assures that this will not negatively impact performance: the title will be even more optimized and will run at a constant 60 FPS on all configurations. The update brings novelties not only on the technical front: there will be gameplay improvements concerning crafting and building, but also to functionalities with a new interface, assorted quality of life changes, and support for multiple characters on the same account.

But that's not all, because Conan Exiles Enhanced will introduce two other major improvements. The first is that the game client will become much lighter, shrinking from 120 GB to just 40 GB; the second is that Exiled Lands and the Isle of Siptah expansion will be unified, so that users can switch between them seamlessly. The Conan Exiles Enhanced update will be released on May 5, 2026.
