Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 is Available, But Fans Are Disappointed
Activision's latest effort hit by review bombing, let's see why

Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 is available: you can find the new chapter of the famous shooter franchise on PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One and Series X|S, PC (Microsoft Store, Battle.net, and Steam), as well as on the Game Pass service from day one. A direct sequel to Black Ops 6, this new installment transports the player into the next decade, a future where robotics has taken on paramount importance in the military sector.
Black Ops 7's Problems
However, the launch of Black Ops 7 has been met with much coldness from the gaming community. On Metacritic, a review bombing is underway, which has sunk the game's user rating to a meager 1.6, while Steam reviews, though more balanced, stop at 42% positive ratings. The reasons for such disappointment are quickly stated: Activision is accused of having created too many assets using artificial intelligence, particularly the artwork depicted in the Calling Cards.
Another sore point is the campaign, which many say is structured as if it were a multiplayer session of Warzone, rather than a single-player mode. Users report that the online component has been forcibly inserted into the campaign to such an extent that the XP obtained is shared with multiplayer, that it is not possible to pause, and that if for some reason you move away from the screen, you even risk being kicked out of the session.
