REDWOOD CITY, California – October 28, 2025 Electronic Arts Inc. (NASDAQ: EA) and Battlefield Studios have launched Battlefield REDSEC, a free-to-play, genre-redefining experience built on Battlefield's iconic DNA, offering a bold new take on the Battle Royale genre, an intense competitive team mode called Gauntlet, and new ways to harness the power of Portal in Fort Lyndon. REDSEC debuts alongside Season 1 of Battlefield™ 6, which brings the conflict to Southern California, introducing new seasonal content to the ultimate all-out warfare experience.

BATTLEFIELD 6: OFFICIAL REDSEC LAUNCH TRAILER

Starting today, players can join the battle for free* with the launch of Battlefield REDSEC, an explosive sandbox set amidst the suburban homes and beaches of California, in a destructible environment called Fort Lyndon.

As part of this free package, players can dive into the largest Battlefield map ever, Fort Lyndon, and experience a new take on Battlefield's DNA that blends with the best of Battle Royale, giving your squad unique opportunities to approach each match and achieve ultimate victory. Squads will drop into a 100-player battle, explore a massive landscape for the most powerful loot, and take down enemy squads with the unmistakable Battlefield gameplay experience. The power of tactical destruction introduces an entirely new level of strategy to the genre, as players must carve their own path to victory or turn the environment into their own lethal weapon, crushing opposing squads. Every round is an explosive experience, in the breathtaking cinematic style Battlefield is known for.

The free REDSEC destination also includes Gauntlet, a new mode that takes team competition to a new level of intensity. In this fast-paced elimination mode, 8 teams of 4 players compete in a series of dynamic, round-based missions in a tournament format. Each round features 5-minute windows in which teams must complete their mission objectives. Be prepared for the unexpected: every round, location, and mission will be unique variables.

Players can also push the boundaries in REDSEC and change the rules of engagement with Battlefield Portal. With this suite of tools, players can create or experiment with their own REDSEC experiences in the varied and ever-evolving Fort Lyndon play space. Create an exhausting battle environment made of only demolition hammers, take on the best of the best in a headshot competition, or bring something truly surprising to life with powerful scripting and customization tools, all available for free in the Fort Lyndon sandbox.

“Battlefield 6 launched just over two weeks ago and has broken every series record, quickly becoming one of the most important launches of the year… and we're not done yet,” said Byron Beede, General Manager of Battlefield. “The new chapter in our Battlefield universe debuts today with Battlefield REDSEC, featuring our new experience that includes a Battle Royale shaped by the series' explosive DNA, our ruthless competitive team mode Gauntlet, and even new ways for our community to create and experiment with Portal. REDSEC is everything you love about Battlefield: destruction, intense combat, vehicle battles, in a new and massive play space that everyone can try for free.”

OFFICIAL BATTLEFIELD 6 SEASON 1 LAUNCH TRAILER

Starting today, on all platforms, Season 1 will offer three distinct phases of content leading up to the holiday season. The first phase of Season 1, called Rogue Operations, debuts today and includes three new weapons, a new map, a new multiplayer mode for close-quarters, high-intensity combat called Impact Point, and much more. The new map Blackwell Fields, set amidst the arid scrublands of Southern California, will be the ultimate large-scale all-out warfare experience, while the new Impact Point mode offers high-stakes multiplayer typical of REDSEC, with an experience focused on 4v4 team combat with only one life per player. The mode pits small teams against each other in rapid rounds, fighting for a single capture point.

Season 1 also brings a “Rogue Operations” themed Battle Pass with 100 tiers, 6 total tracks, and 10 Prestige tiers. A premium BF Pro tier and premium store content are also available starting today.

“We have already revealed that this is our most ambitious development plan in Battlefield history, and today we demonstrate our commitment to that,” said Vince Zampella, Executive Vice President. “It's part of our promise to deliver a wide variety of quality content on a regular basis, ensuring there will always be something new and unexpected to discover every time you enter battle.”

Two more Season 1 content drops will follow this year, with California Resistance releasing on November 18 and Winter Offensive releasing on December 9. California Resistance features a new map set in the suburbs of Southern California and a new mode called Sabotage, where the goal is to destroy as many objectives as possible before the round ends, while Winter Offensive includes special seasonal-themed content.

Seasonal content will be released regularly, adding maps, modes, weapons, and more. All gameplay-impacting features will be free or obtainable as part of our commitment to fair play and access for all players. As with Battlefield Labs, Battlefield Studios will continue to develop both Battlefield 6 and REDSEC alongside its community, taking into account their valuable feedback as these games grow and the Battlefield universe expands.
