Avengers: Doomsday, the new trailer: here's how the X-Men enter the Marvel Cinematic Universe

The new teaser trailer for Avengers: Doomsday has been officially released, bringing the X-Men to the center of the Marvel Cinematic Universe for the first time. The film will arrive in Italian cinemas on December 16, 2026, and the video offers a first taste of how the mutants will enter the narrative.

The teaser brings back three historical faces from the Fox era. Patrick Stewart returns as Charles Xavier, Ian McKellen reprises the role of Magneto, and James Marsden reappears as Cyclops. It's the first official look at these characters within the MCU itself.

The images focus on the Xavier Institute, shown in a state of abandonment, and on the relationship between Xavier and Erik Lehnsherr, also evoked through a chess game that explicitly recalls previous films. In the background, Magneto delivers a twilight-toned monologue that accompanies a more somber sequence than expected, hinting at heavy consequences for the mutants involved in the conflict.

The most recognizable moment of the teaser is Cyclops's entrance with a costume inspired by classic comics, while Sentinels advance behind him. The iconography openly recalls the aesthetic of the X-Men of the nineties, including that made famous by Jim Lee's artwork.

The video does not yet clarify Doctor Doom's role, who is absent from the images, but confirms Marvel Studios' intention to include the X-Men as an active part of the conflict that will lead to the conclusion of the Multiverse Saga.
