ASUS ROG Prepares Gaming for the Wi-Fi 8 Leap
The system is composed of 16 antennas integrated into 8 external elements
For online gamers, the transition to Wi-Fi 8 could be particularly interesting for making the connection more stable when the home network is under pressure. ASUS brings this philosophy to the new ROG Rapture GT-BN98 family, which will be available from October.
The flagship model, the GT-BN98 Pro, offers quad-band wireless connectivity with a declared total capacity of up to 30 Gbps, accompanied by 2x 10 Gbps Ethernet ports and 4x 2.5 Gbps ports. This configuration is also designed for gaming systems, PCs, and consoles that use high-speed wired connections.
More Attention to Stability During Matches
ASUS claims to have observed improvements even when using already available Wi-Fi 7 devices. The technologies provided by Wi-Fi 8, including UEQM and NPCA, aim to better manage modulation and interference, aspects that are far from secondary when an online match cannot afford sudden drops in stability.
The GT-BN98 also uses a 2.6 GHz quad-core processor and 2 GB of RAM, with a system composed of 16 antennas integrated into 8x external elements. Also arriving in October will be the ZenWiFi BN12, a 12-stream tri-band mesh solution intended for homes where gaming, streaming, and numerous devices share the same network.
