The return to Arrakis is approaching and Warner Bros. has decided to play one of its first cards: pre-sales have begun in the USA for IMAX 70mm screenings, while a new teaser for Dune: Part Three shows more images from the final chapter directed by Denis Villeneuve.

The choice of formats is not accidental; after two films built around the spectacle of Arrakis, Villeneuve seems intent on pushing the cinematic dimension of the story even further. The new material indeed shows a universe now profoundly changed, where Paul Atreides' victory by no means coincides with the end of the conflict.

The Day After the Conquest

Almost twenty years have passed since the previous events, and Timothée Chalamet portrays a Paul now transformed by the role he has conquered. Zendaya returns by his side, while the cast also includes Robert Pattinson, Florence Pugh, Jason Momoa, Anya Taylor-Joy, and Javier Bardem.

The story will pick up the events of Dune Messiah, shifting the focus of the narrative from Paul's conquests to the consequences of his power. A perspective that could radically change how the protagonist will be remembered.

Villeneuve returns to direct and co-write the screenplay with Brian K. Vaughan. The Italian release of Dune: Part Three is set for December 16th, two days before the arrival of Avengers: Doomsday.
