Fans of espionage seasoned with dark humor can rejoice: Apple TV+ has released the first trailer for the fifth season of Slow Horses, the series that has become a cult favorite among genre enthusiasts. Gary Oldman returns as the unforgettable Jackson Lamb, the sarcastic and brilliant head of Slough House, the MI5's "dumping ground" where disgraced agents are relegated.
Gary Oldman as brilliant as ever
The new season will premiere on September 24 with weekly episodes until October 19, and is based on Mick Herron's novel London Rules. At the center of the plot is Roddy Ho (Christopher Chung), the group's computer genius, who surprises everyone by showing up with a mysterious and glamorous girlfriend. From there, London becomes the stage for increasingly chaotic events that only the "slow horses" can tackle amidst tension, irony, and mortal dangers.
The cast remains top-tier with names like Kristin Scott Thomas, Jack Lowden, Saskia Reeves, Rosalind Eleazar, and Jonathan Pryce, with guest star Nick Mohammed, previously seen in Ted Lasso. Described by producer Doug Urbanski as "the funniest and craziest" season of the series, Slow Horses promises an irresistible mix of corrosive comedy and cinematic action. Bolstered by awards, enthusiastic reviews, and an increasingly loyal audience, the show has already been renewed for 2 more seasons.
