Sacha Baron Cohen returns to the scene with Ali G: Who Iz I?, available on Prime Video from October 28, 2026, just five days after its limited theatrical release in the United States. The return of the character, born in 2000 with Da Ali G Show, aims to recapture the irreverent satire that made the British comedian famous.

The film's promotion also included a video published on Ali G's official Instagram profile. In the clip, the character embarks on an improbable calculation about the work's duration and the number of possible viewings in a day, confirming his proverbial inability to distinguish logic from his own beliefs.

The Return of an Out-of-Time Provocateur

The plot features Ali G in a difficult phase: his popularity has waned, his girlfriend is eight months pregnant, and his finances are far from solid. A misunderstanding related to a large financial offer from the US channel HBO makes him believe he can return to the limelight. To do so, he resumes the interviews and stratagems that characterized his earlier exploits.

The character became famous by putting politicians and celebrities on the spot with absurd questions, behind which contradictions and prejudices of the interviewees often emerged. The challenge today is to understand if that formula retains the same effectiveness. In the United States, the film arrived on October 23 in about 125 theaters. Initial critical reactions have been mixed: Rotten Tomatoes recorded 48% positive reviews, with observations on the discontinuity of the gags and the aging of the satire.

The arrival on Prime Video will now broaden the audience, offering Sacha Baron Cohen the opportunity to see if Ali G can also win over viewers who never followed his first television appearances.
