Taylor Sheridan Returns to Cinema with Two New Projects
The nascent works mark the beginning of a cinematic collaboration with NBCUniversal
After building one of the most popular television universes of recent years with Yellowstone and its spin-offs, Taylor Sheridan is ready to return to the big screen. The screenwriter will pen Visalia and Capture the Flag, two original projects acquired by Bosque Ranch Productions and 101 Studios, which will inaugurate his cinematic collaboration with NBCUniversal.
The works will explore very different territories. Visalia will tell the journey of a young Cuban woman who, after fleeing to the United States in search of a new life, will be forced to return to her home country following a political change, finding herself facing a profoundly transformed reality.
Two New Stories Between Drama and Science Fiction
Capture the Flag will take Sheridan into the territory of science fiction. At the center of the story will be a NASA engineer involved in the development of a reusable spacecraft for lunar missions, while a powerful entrepreneur will challenge his convictions with a proposal destined to change the course of the project. Both films will originate from stories conceived by producer Andrew Lauren, with Sheridan handling the screenplay.
His return to cinema will not interrupt the author's intense television activity, however, as he will continue to oversee series such as Landman, Lioness, Tulsa King, Mayor of Kingstown, and The Madison. In parallel, he remains involved in the film adaptation of Call of Duty, scheduled for 2028.
