Remothered: Red Nun's Legacy - The Final Chapter of the Saga Announced
From Etna to the secret of Phenoxyl: Susan and the return of the Red Nun in the final chapter of Stormind Games' horror saga

The weeks leading up to major video game industry trade shows are usually preceded by silence from software houses, who try to keep any gossip at bay with the aim of surprising the general public with their announcements.
However, this silence is only apparent, as conversations simply move elsewhere, to rooms far from the clamor and prying eyes of fans.
And it was in one of these rooms that we had the opportunity to meet the guys from Stormind Games, who showed us a preview of the first images of the highly anticipated third chapter of the Remothered saga: Red Nun’s Legacy.

An announcement that left us particularly surprised and caught our attention especially for the quality of the product presented.
Stormind Games' Return to Origins
The meeting was opened by Stormind Games CEO, Antonio Cannata, who emphasized how, after experiences with A Quiet Place and Mafia: The Old Country, the team decided to return to work on the final chapter of Remothered.
A project in which Stormind Games has placed enormous respect both for the franchise, which was the first launched by Stormind Games, and for the fans, who have waited for years for the story to conclude.

The trailer shown to us introduced a new protagonist, Susan, who finds herself wandering through the corridors of the Convent of the Dying Christ, located on the slopes of the Etna volcano in Catania, in search of her daughter whom she believed to be missing.
The images then showed us an old and terrifying acquaintance from the saga: the Red Nun, who seems to be increasingly involved in the experiments with phenoxyl, which now also seem to be conducted on newborns.
Remothered: Red Nun's Legacy, the announcement trailer
Beyond the plot, which was skillfully kept cryptic, the trailer also allowed us to take a look at the gameplay and technical aspects of Remothered: Red Nun’s Legacy; which seemed to be of excellent quality.

The environments and polygonal models were recreated with extreme attention to detail, thanks also to a skillful use of Unreal Engine 5 which allowed for an extremely photorealistic touch to the corridors and rooms of the convent.
The same goes for the in-game audio which surprised us with the many ambient sounds that accompanied the protagonist's footsteps, all surrounded by a decidedly high-quality English voice acting.
The gameplay of Remothered 3 is a true revolution compared to the previous two chapters.
The most obvious novelty is the over-the-shoulder camera which allows for greater immersion in the claustrophobic corridors of the convent. Also noteworthy is the attention to the animations and movements of the characters on screen, which seemed decidedly more natural and fluid compared to Broken Porcelain.
The development team has placed a particular focus on the stalkers. These are much more terrifying than in previous chapters and will hunt Susan with much more vehemence, perking up their ears at every single noise or misstep.
Remothered 3 is a love letter to the horror genre
The trailer immediately made clear Stormind Games' desire to create a product that was also an ode to the horror genre, implementing all those elements that have made its history.

Susan will be in constant danger, with the game perfectly conveying that sense of perpetual vulnerability that keeps the tension high; so much so that in describing the sense of anxiety that will accompany players throughout the story, the development team spoke of “discovery under pressure”.
Compared to the first two chapters of the franchise, the protagonist will not be limited to hiding and avoiding stalkers, but will be able to confront them head-on with melee weapons she finds around; however, do not expect an action shift, as these weapons will break easily.
The video also showed how Susan will be able to rely on powers related to hypnosis that will allow her to discover secrets and memories related to the Convent of the Dying Christ, solve environmental puzzles, discover hidden passages, and even perceive reality in a different way.
The evolution of the Remothered saga
After the trailer concluded, we had the opportunity to delve deeper into the game's development with the Stormind Games team, who emphasized that they had placed enormous attention on the creation of Remothered Red Nun’s Legacy.
The underlying goal was to create a story capable of answering many open questions, but also of welcoming those who have not played the previous chapters; hence the idea of using a new character in a setting that is not unknown to fans of the saga but has never been directly explored.

Aware of past feedback, the development team decided to focus on the central mechanics of the franchise, thus improving in detail elements such as the character growth system, which is now much more streamlined than in the past, or the artificial intelligence of enemies, who will be much tougher and more determined in chasing us.
Looking at the images on screen, it was inevitable not to ask how the city of Catania influenced the artistic aspect of the production.
The team told us that although the Convent of the Dying Christ is not a real place, its creation was inspired by all the artistic heritage that the city of Catania, and Sicily, offer: such as the many 18th and 19th-century villas, the marvelous Palazzo Biscari, or even Villa Lampedusa and Villa Boscogrande in Palermo.

To the question of how the work on A Quiet Place and Mafia: The Old Country influenced the development of Remothered 3, Stormind emphasized that while the experience with A Quiet Place helped in building a pure horror, the one with Mafia helped in telling the game's events with a cinematic flair.
Awaiting the release of Remothered: Red Nun's Legacy
At the conclusion of the meeting, Stormind Games also announced that to celebrate the return of the saga, it will release a series of video-diaries of the development of Remothered: Red Nun’s Legacy, where the developers themselves will recount anecdotes and curiosities that accompanied the work.

The announcement of Remothered: Red Nun’s Legacy is a very pleasant surprise of this 2026, especially in light of the excellent work the team seems to have done on every aspect of development.
Stormind Games has announced that the game will be released in 2026, without giving a specific date, however, the game can already be added to your wishlists on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Steam, Epic Games, and GOG.
So, all that remains is to wait for further details to discover how the threat of Ashmann, phenoxyl, and moths will end.
