Victorian Psycho: Trailer Reveals Nanny Out of Control
A grotesque and blood-soaked atmosphere of isolated manors, sinister smiles, and terrified servants

Blood and black humor dominate the first trailer for Victorian Psycho, a gothic thriller set in a gloomy Victorian England. Maika Monroe plays Winifred Notty, an impeccably dressed governess behind whom hides an increasingly disturbing personality.
The film seems to move away from classic, solemn horror, opting instead for a venomous and grotesque tone, where psychological tension and violence explode suddenly. The trailer focuses primarily on the protagonist's presence: calm, manipulative, almost amused by the discomfort she causes around her. Amidst suffocating aristocratic settings and social dynamics distorted to the point of caricature, Victorian Psycho gives the impression of wanting to transform the psychological thriller into a cruel and unpredictable dark comedy.
Between Serial Killers and Macabre Humor
Directed by Zachary Wigon and based on Virginia Feito's novel, the film relies heavily on Monroe's disturbing charisma, already perfectly at ease with madness and ambiguity. The cast also includes Thomasin McKenzie, Jason Isaacs, and Ruth Wilson.
Victorian Psycho will arrive in US cinemas on September 25th, and the Italian release is also expected in the autumn. The “R” rating confirms the presence of explicit violence and adult content.
