Total War: Shogun 2 Returns After 15 Years with the Complete Edition

In 1999, Shogun: Total War marked the beginning of the acclaimed series of real-time strategy titles developed by the British studio The Creative Assembly. Eleven years later, the sequel Total War: Shogun 2 established itself as a new benchmark for the saga and the entire genre. If you loved this title and would like to play it again, or if you don't know it but would like to remedy that, Sega will soon offer you a new opportunity to do so.

The New Edition of Shogun 2

The Japanese company has announced Total War: Shogun 2 - Complete Edition, an edition that includes the game plus all DLC (excluding the Blood Pack) and expansions Rise of the Samurai and Fall of the Samurai. Among the new features are an obvious graphics update, with improved lighting system, shadows, and textures, but also full Japanese voice acting localization, revised controls, and above all over 50 new playable minor factions.

When the Complete Edition Comes Out and How Much It Costs

Total War: Shogun 2 - Complete Edition will be released on October 13, 2026 on PC (Steam, Epic Games Store, GOG, Xbox PC). The price will be €39.99. Those who already own the game on Steam will receive the Legacy DLC for free and for a limited time will be able to purchase the new edition with a 75% loyalty discount.
