DreamWorks Animation tries to break the mold with The Forgotten Island, an original project that has just shown its first images and already hints at a distinct identity.

At the center of the story are Jo and Raissa, two friends on the verge of separating after high school, who are pulled into a fantastical world inspired by Philippine mythology. Amidst eerie creatures and legends brought to life, their adventure takes a deeper turn than expected: to return home, they might lose the memories that bind them together.

When growing up means risking to forget

The 90s setting is not just a nostalgic whim, but a key element of the story. In an era without constant connections, the value of memories becomes central, making the stakes even more emotional.

Directing are Joel Crawford and Januel Mercado, already behind the success of Puss in Boots 2 - The Last Wish, with the intention of pushing further on the visual and stylistic front.

The voice cast features H.E.R., Liza Soberano, and Dave Franco. The film's release is set for September 24, 2026.
