The Devil Wears Prada 2 has established itself as one of the biggest cinematic events of the moment. The sequel produced by Disney and 20th Century Studios debuted at number one at the global box office with an impressive $233.6 million opening, far exceeding even the most optimistic expectations.

In the United States, the film grossed $77 million in its first weekend, while the international market contributed another $156 million, immediately turning Miranda Priestly's return into a global success. The result is even more significant considering the production budget, estimated at around $100 million, which has already been practically recouped in the first few days of release.

Italian Audience Also Rewards the Sequel

The success is not limited to the American market. In Italy, the film has already reached approximately 14 million euros in revenue, with over 1.7 million viewers in cinemas, confirming the brand's strength even twenty years after the original chapter.

Much of the enthusiasm stems from the return of the original cast composed of Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, Emily Blunt, and Stanley Tucci. Positive word-of-mouth and the nostalgic component are indeed pushing the sequel towards numbers that could quickly surpass the overall box office of the original film from 2006.
