Thirty-five years after its release, Terminator 2: Judgment Day will return to the big screen with a celebratory re-release also for Italian audiences. The event is set for August 28, 2026, just a few days before the symbolic "Judgment Day" on August 29, a central date in the saga's mythology.

For the occasion, James Cameron's masterpiece will be screened in 4K and RealD 3D. The distribution will involve numerous countries between late August and early September, with Italy included in the first group of releases along with the United States.

An anniversary to rediscover an absolute cult classic

The film will bring back to theaters the clash between the T-800 played by Arnold Schwarzenegger and the lethal T-1000 by Robert Patrick, joined by Linda Hamilton and Edward Furlong in the roles of Sarah and John Connor.

To celebrate the milestone, a new trailer has also been released, while Cameron recalled how Terminator 2 was conceived for the cinematic experience, emphasizing that the restored 3D version represents the best way to see it today. On this, we would have something to say, given that the technical intervention for the stereoscopic version cleaned the film of its original grain. The director confirmed that he is working on the seventh chapter of the saga, still in the early stages of development.
