Stranger than Heaven tells its story, starting from 1915
Here's how Makoto Daito's long journey to Japan began
Sega and Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio return to talk about Stranger than Heaven, framing the game from a different perspective. The new series of in-depth videos will focus on the game's story, and naturally, it starts from the beginning, when Makoto Daito stowed away on a ship from California heading to Japan, disembarking in Kokura, Fukuoka, a location we learned about in this article.
Kokura's Harsh Welcome
In the trailer, we see the protagonist leave the United States to escape discrimination, but once he sets foot on Japanese soil, things don't get much better: he finds only distrust and cruelty awaiting him. To survive in such a hostile environment, Makoto Daito gets entangled in the web of organized crime (could a reference to the Yakuza be missing in a Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio game?).
Thus begins the adventure of Stranger than Heaven, which will unfold over half a century, touching five major cities in Japan, and will be available from January 15, 2027, on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC (Steam, Xbox PC), and on the Game Pass service.
