Showa American Story has been delayed to 2026
The bizarre post-apocalyptic Japanese-America will have to wait
Yesterday, State of Play Japan was broadcast, and among the games shown, we wouldn't have minded seeing Showa American Story, especially since it was supposed to be released on PlayStation consoles soon, by the end of the year. This open-world action/adventure stands out for its audacity in blending 80s America and B-movies with Japanese otaku culture, a combination that results in an environment that is to say the least, extravagant.
Release pushed to 2026
If you're not sure what we're talking about, try taking a look at this trailer... Unfortunately, however, the game was not present at the State of Play, and the reason is simple: as reported by Gematsu, Showa American Story has been delayed to 2026. Nekcom Games executive producer, Xy Luo, informs us that development is about to enter its final phase. In addition to PlayStation 4 and 5, you will also find this title on PC, via Steam.
