Koei Tecmo and its subsidiary Kou Shibusawa have announced the "Power-Up Kit" for the remake of Romance of the Three Kingdoms 8. This new expansion, which will be sold together with the original game in the unimaginatively named bundle Romance of the Three Kingdoms 8 Remake with Power-Up Kit, will debut in Japan on PC via Steam, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and 5 on January 29, 2026, priced at 10,780 yen (approximately 60 euros). Alternatively, owners of the real-time strategy game can upgrade for 4,730 yen (approximately 26 euros). At the moment, we do not know if it will also be released in our region, but it is very likely.

The Power-Up Kit includes new gameplay mechanics, such as Gems to enhance abilities and Turning Points, random events capable of overturning the tide of battles, five additional fictional scenarios, interface and combat improvements, over 1000 officers for a total of 55 scenarios, and Chinese voice acting.
