You may have noticed that September has a significantly higher concentration of video game releases than usual: to dodge the bogeyman Grand Theft Auto VI, numerous publishers have decided to distance themselves by at least a couple of months, thus ending up overlapping titles in September (or postponing to 2027). The result is that many prominent games will be released just days apart.

A September full of games, perhaps too full

September 24th is particularly crowded, with Control Resonant, Silent Hill: Townfall, Hot Wheels: Infinite Rush, plus other minor titles. Valor Mortis was also scheduled for the same day but has been postponed to October 13th to avoid too much competition. The next day, September 25th, would have been the turn of Onimusha: Way of the Sword, but Capcom has also decided to change its plans.

Onimusha's new release date

Fortunately for fans, Onimusha has not been postponed, but rather moved up: the new release date is set for September 4, 2026. The action franchise will therefore return to our screens three weeks earlier than expected. If that's still not enough for you, you can try the demo: we did, and it left us with an excellent impression. Onimusha: Way of the Sword will be released on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam.
