Project Comet: Marvel wants its own gacha too
Genshin Impact, but with superheroes
The sensational success of Genshin Impact has prompted many competitors to launch their own variation on the theme of open-world free-to-play action/RPGs (just think of Tower of Fantasy, Wuthering Waves, Neverness to Everness, The Seven Deadly Sins: Origins, Ananta, and many more), strictly with gacha mechanics. A rumor reveals that an analogous title featuring famous Marvel IPs awaits us in the future.
First information on Project Comet
As reported by Insider Gaming, Marvel's gacha is provisionally referred to as Project Comet and is in development at Scopely, the Californian company that is a subsidiary of Savvy Games Group and boasts Niantic's gaming division (the studio that created Pokémon GO). This title will be an action/RPG that will allow players to form teams composed of Marvel heroes and villains.
Project Comet will offer repeatable cooperative missions for 4 players (somewhat like Genshin Impact), with different difficulty levels. Some stylistic elements resemble those of Marvel Rivals, and this is no coincidence, as some of Rivals' artists are involved in the development. Project Comet is planned for Android and iOS mobile devices; a PC release is not confirmed but probable. The information reported so far is based on leaks, so please take it as such.
