Pokémon Legends: Z-A Sells 5.8 Million Copies in One Week
Strong start for the new title in the series, but not a record
The launch of a Pokémon game on the market is always an event of extraordinary magnitude, a trend that is confirmed for the latest installment in the franchise, Pokémon Legends: Z-A. Sales for this title, which was released on October 16 simultaneously worldwide on Nintendo Switch 1 and 2 consoles, were already anticipated to be very significant based on initial data from Famitsu, and official confirmation has now arrived.
Pokémon Legends: Z-A Sales
In a press release, The Pokémon Company announced that Pokémon Legends: Z-A sold 5.8 million copies in its first week. It is highlighted that approximately half of the copies were distributed on Switch 2: a remarkable result, considering the disparity in the installed base between the two platforms. Sales for Pokémon Legends: Z-A are excellent, but far from the series' record: Scarlet and Violet had sold an astonishing 10 million copies in three days.
