Nightwatching – Ridley Scott Co-Produces Film with Mila Kunis
A tense, nocturnal thriller that seems to focus on atmosphere, paranoia, and the instinct for survival
Mila Kunis returns to the thriller genre with Nightwatching, a film adaptation of Tracy Sierra's novel of the same name, published in 2024. The actress will not only star but also co-produce the film, confirming her direct creative involvement in the project.
The film is directed by Adam Schindler and Brian Netto, known for the thriller Don't Move, with filming set to begin by the end of the month in California. The screenplay originated from a story by Laura Moss and Brendan J. O'Brien, then re-worked into its current version by T.J. Cimfel and David White.
A Tense Home Invasion is Expected
The story follows Lee, a mother who, in the midst of a violent winter storm, wakes up to discover an intruder in her home. What was supposed to be an ordinary night turns into a claustrophobic nightmare, leading to a desperate fight for survival. In an attempt to protect her children, Lee finds herself trapped in a psychological game of suspicion, fear, and unsettling questions: who really entered her house and why?
The film boasts a significant production team, with Ridley Scott and Michael Pruss for Scott Free Productions, joined by Picturestart and Kunis's new label, Brick for Sheep. Fifth Season is financing the project and also serving as executive producer. Amazon MGM Studios will handle distribution. A tense, nocturnal thriller that focuses entirely on atmosphere, paranoia, and the instinct for survival.
