Narnia: The Magician's Nephew - First Movie Trailer
Among the sequences shown, the creation of the fantastical world stands out
Netflix has released the first trailer for The Chronicles of Narnia: The Magician's Nephew, an adaptation of C.S. Lewis's novel directed by Greta Gerwig, director of Barbie. The images show an aesthetic distinct from previous adaptations, characterized by saturated colors and atmospheres reminiscent of 1970s fantasy sci-fi.
Among the sequences shown, the creation of Narnia stands out, accompanied by Aslan's song, voiced in the original by Meryl Streep. The director recalled her connection to the novel, which she read in childhood, focusing on the idea of a world generated by music, which long remained at the center of her imagination.
An aesthetic far from previous adaptations
The story follows Digory Kirke and Polly Plummer, children involved in an adventure that leads them to the discovery of unknown worlds. Daniel Craig plays Uncle Andrew Ketterley, while David McKenna and Beatrice Campbell portray the young protagonists. The cast also includes Emma Mackey and Carey Mulligan.
The film will arrive in Italian cinemas on February 12, 2027, also in IMAX format, before landing on Netflix on April 2.
