Marathon has returned to the public eye: Bungie has shared a lengthy documentary, reviewing the main aspects of the game. The extraction shooter thus receives a sort of new presentation, aiming to convey to the observer the progress made since the previous build, which, as you may recall, received much criticism. The watchword of this documentary seems to be Survival: the developers emphasize how dangerous Tau Ceti IV has become.

When Marathon Comes Out and How Much It Costs

Marathon's launch was initially set for last September, but negative reception wisely led to a delay, to try and avert another Concord situation. We already knew that this extraction shooter would be released by the end of Sony's fiscal year, and now it's announced that Marathon will be released in March 2026, on PlayStation 5 and PC (Steam). The game's price will be €39.99.

Marathon Says No to Pay-to-Win

Marathon will be enriched by constant updates over time, and Bungie will share a roadmap to keep users informed. The game's monetization will also involve battle passes: it's interesting to note that their contents will be available indefinitely, so users can also access those from previous passes. Marathon will not be pay-to-win: Bungie assures that in-game purchases will not increase survival chances.
