In a few days, Assassin's Creed Shadows will land on Switch 2. How does the latest installment of the celebrated Ubisoft saga perform on Nintendo's hybrid console? The French company tells us, with a rather detailed report on the technical specifications and adjustments made to ensure the best possible experience on the new hardware.

According to the official website of the title, Assassin's Creed Shadows will run at 30fps in both docked and handheld mode on Switch 2. Fixed? We hope so. We don't know at what resolution the image will be rendered, but it seems that the developers have adapted VRR (normally reserved for titles running at at least 40fps) to work even in this circumstance.

The "level of detail" (LOD) has been optimized for the console, affecting draw distance, textures, and on-screen elements. The game then uses the global illumination preferred on low-end PCs and Xbox Series S, to optimize RAM consumption. We also have DLSS and HDR, but a smaller number of NPCs in the most populated areas. Menus, map, and hideout can be managed with the touchscreen.

Assassin's Creed Shadows will include almost all expansions released on other platforms at launch on Switch 2, with the Claws of Awaji planned for 2026. What do you think? Interested in this version?
