FBC: Firebreak Fails to Take Off - Losses for Remedy
The Breakpoint update hasn't improved the situation. Is closure near?
Most games conceived as a service don't make it to their first year, and a launch below expectations can kill their future in the cradle. We unfortunately have to start the discussion about FBC: Firebreak with this very negative premise, because the title developed by Remedy Entertainment not only got off to a bad start, but seems unable to recover, and the fear that its fate is sealed is more than justified.
Remedy's Downward Forecasts
Remedy Entertainment has released a press release for investors, commenting on the performance of the third quarter of 2025, which was negatively impacted by FBC: Firebreak. The Finnish company tried to change the situation with the Breakpoint update; however, according to the document, to date the attempt has not had the desired effect and sales have remained below expectations.
For these reasons, Remedy has been forced to revise its financial estimates: previously, third-quarter profits were expected to be higher than those of the same period in 2024, whereas now they are projected to be lower. Under these conditions, how much longer can support for FBC: Firebreak last?
