Funcom studio has announced what we can consider the most important update for Dune: Awakening since the title was launched. This multiplayer survival game, set on the fascinating and harsh desert planet created by writer Frank Herbert, has major new features planned: the main ones are a single-player mode and its release on consoles, but that's not all.

When Dune: Awakening Releases on Consoles

This update will be released on September 22, 2026. From the same day, Dune: Awakening will also be available on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S consoles (we warn, however, that there will be no cross-play between the various platforms). The new patch will introduce a long-requested feature: the single-player mode. If they wish, players can enjoy the experience alone, in a world where the map does not reset and constructions are not destroyed.

The Story Concludes

Not only will you be able to tackle Dune: Awakening alone, but you will be able to follow its story from beginning to end: the update will in fact grant access to the fifth act of Book One, which is the concluding chapter, with a dramatic cinematic finale. The patch will bring with it many other new features, including an improved endgame, greater experience customization, additional content, quality of life improvements, and more: you can find the details on the official website.
