Crystal Lake, trailer brings Jason back to his origins
His mother's past becomes the focus of the story, and revelations will not be lacking
Jason Voorhees has not yet become the monster we know. This is the starting point of Crystal Lake, the Friday the 13th prequel series produced by A24 and Peacock, which has finally shown its official trailer.
It all begins in 1971, when young Jason drowns in the lake. The story then shifts to his mother Pamela, played by Linda Cardellini, unable to accept her son's death and convinced that he might still be alive.
Pamela Voorhees is hiding something
The woman's past becomes the focal point of the story when two strangers arrive at her door, beginning to dig into her history. Their presence will trigger a series of events that will lead the residents of Crystal Lake to question Pamela's true nature. The trailer also hints at a possible answer to one of the mysteries never truly addressed by the saga: how can Jason, who died as a child, transform into the gigantic killer we know?
Callum Vinson, previously seen in Chucky, plays the young Jason. Brad Caleb Kane is the showrunner, while Michael Lennox, Celine Held and Logan George, and Quyen Tran alternate directing. The first season will consist of eight episodes, all available on Peacock from October 15; in the same month, it will also be available in Italy on Sky and NOW.
