Chained Beasts: The Gladiator Roguelike Has Arrived

Australian indie developer Featherweight Games announces the release of Chained Beasts, which is now available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, PC (Steam, Xbox PC) and from day one on the Game Pass service. Chained Beasts is a top-down action roguelike designed for cooperative multiplayer with up to 4 players. Featherweight's title plunges players into a gladiatorial arena, where anthropomorphic animals must fight to survive.

However, the gladiators controlled by players are chained together (hence the game's name), a complication that requires careful coordination to avoid hindering each other, or worse, getting tangled in obstacles, thus remaining at the mercy of the enemy. The arena is a ruthless place, where various adversaries and formidable bosses will be encountered on the path to freedom.

Players can use the environment to their advantage, eliminating other gladiators through various environmental hazards, such as walls bristling with sharp spikes and snake pits. Battle after battle, the controlled character will get injured and be forced to continue maimed; potions and surgery can be used to improve the situation, but beware of side effects. Throughout the game, different gladiators with specific abilities can be unlocked.
