Amazon Prime Video has set October 2026 for the debut of the new series dedicated to Carrie, based on the famous novel by Stephen King. The announcement came during Fan Expo Vancouver from Katee Sackhoff, who confirmed the launch window and the project's inclusion in the so-called “Flanniverse.”

The choice of month is no coincidence: October, with Halloween at the center of the scene (in 2026 it will fall on a Saturday), represents the ideal stage for a story that blends adolescent trauma, religious fanaticism, and destructive power. The series consists of 8 episodes, filming for which concluded in October 2025.

There will also be time for psychological focus

At the helm is Mike Flanagan, already the author of King adaptations such as Doctor Sleep and Gerald's Game. Stephen King himself reportedly expressed full confidence in the director, reinforcing the idea of a more psychological than spectacular adaptation. The protagonist will be Summer H. Howell (image above) as Carrie White, flanked by Samantha Sloyan as her mother Margaret and Matthew Lillard as Principal Grayle.

After the iconic cinematic version by De Palma (and the modest remake), this new incarnation aims to re-read the classic in a serialized key, exploring the theme of marginalization and repressed anger with greater depth. Amazon thus seems ready to transform Carrie into one of the leading horror events of 2026 on its platform.
